What to Expect at Your First Visit
If this is your first time getting a Brazilian wax — or your first time with Val — here is what the experience looks like. You will arrive at PHENIX Salon Suites and be welcomed into a private, spotless studio. Val will briefly discuss your preferences and any skin sensitivities before beginning.
The wax used is authentic Brazilian natural bee wax, applied warm to the skin. The warmth helps open pores, which makes the hair removal smoother and less painful than cold or strip-only methods. For intimate areas, the hard bee wax is applied and removed without strips. For larger body areas like legs, arms, or back, soft wax with strips is used for efficiency.
After the session, any waxy residue is gently removed and a soothing cream is applied to calm the skin. Most Brazilian wax appointments take between 20 and 40 minutes depending on the area. Val will also give you aftercare tips to help your skin stay smooth between visits.
For best results, hair should be at least 1/4 inch long (about two weeks of growth after shaving). Regular clients who wax every 3-4 weeks find that over time, hair grows back thinner and sparser, making each session faster and more comfortable than the last.
